Google search gets new feature for "how-to" videos from YouTube

The search feature, available on the most recent version of the Google app, returns YouTube videos that meet the user search request (ex. how to knit a scarf). The videos are presented with a timeline showing intermediate bookmarks (blue dots) for specific topics presented. For example, the how-to video for knitting a scarf presents intermediate bookmarks for 'choosing yarn', 'cast on', 'knit stitch', etc. From the search results page, the bookmarks let users skip directly past an introduction or to a particular topic most valuable for their needs. For content creators, this adds another layer of granularity to SEO efforts. 9to5Google
