Instagram's 'hiding likes' test expands to seven countries

Instagram's 'hiding likes' test expands to seven countries. Originally started in Canada back in April, Instagram’s trial of hiding public Like counts is expanding. Ireland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and Argentina have been added, In these countries, Likes aren’t shown in any public part of the app, including public-facing grids or the main feed, while the poster can see the Like count for their own posts. Instagram introduced the change as part of efforts to reduce pressure on users and help them to focus on the media they want to share and not on how much approval it gets from other users. Vox
