The rollout of Facebook's clear history tool is placed on hold by a judge

The rollout of Facebook's clear history tool is placed on hold by a judge. A Texas District Court judge temporarily blocked the rollout of Facebook’s Off-Facebook Activity feature in the U.S. for fear that it will result in a loss of evidence. In the sexual exploitation case, the woman’t attorneys want Facebook to provide the browsing history for her alleged pimp, which it couldn’t do if the person was allowed to use Facebook’s new tool. The case involves a woman who is suing Facebook for negligence for allowing her grooming and sex trafficking to take place as a a result of contact initially made between the woman and her pimp on Facebook. It’s a tenuous case but for now it halts Facebook’s rollout of the feature. 9to5mac
