Google's Pixel 4 phone will feature Motion Sense to detect tiny hand movements above the phone. The feature uses radar to detect tiny hand or finger motion above the device. Early demos of the technology showed a user rubbing their thumb and index finger together to simulate turning a tiny dial on a smartwatch. The motion controls the volume or other media control settings for a music or video streaming app. Google hinted at broader uses in a recent blog post referring to the new technology (Soli), “Soli, powering our new Motion Sense, allows you to skip songs, snooze alarms, and silence phone calls, just by waving your hand.” The Verge
