In an early test of its policy, Twitter says Trump's tweets about Baltimore do not break its rules. President Trump’s weekend tweets criticized the city of Baltimore saying “no human being” would want to live there and said it was “disgusting, rat and rodent infested.” Twitter says the tweets do not break its recently updated policies on dehumanizing posts from public figures. Twitter execs said the policy prohibits dehumanizing posts aimed at ethnic and religious groups, and other protected groups including people of color and other marginalized communities. Twitter ruled that because President’s Trumps’s tweets were aimed at the city of Baltimore, it did not meet the standard set by the policy. Critics say the ruling misses the point - through his tweets, President Trump is marginalizing the people of Baltimore. CNN
