Facebook's Audience Insights tool shows engagement has grown since January. For Facebook users in the US, between January and July this year, the 30-day median number of posts per user increased from 6 to 8. Similarly, the number of posts liked rose from 9 to 13, and ads clicked rose from 13 to 17. A noted external analyst attributes the user engagement increase to Facebook’s continued work to improve its data, algorithms, and machine learning which is translating to users seeing more and more relevant content which leads to more engagement. Strategically, Facebook’s user growth has slowed in the US so its very likely it is compensating for fewer new users with greater existing user engagement which translates to a continued steady growth in advertising revenue.
