In today's edition of <ALL THINGS> Software: 

Nonprofit uses open source Google TensorFlow AI solution to monitor rain forests for illegal deforestation. The team at Rainforest Connection built a scalable, real-time detection and alert system for logging and environmental conservation.in the Amazon rainforest. The system uses hidden smartphones powered by solar panels to continually record the sounds around it, loading the audio stream to the cloud over the local cell network. Then the audio is analysed using Tensorflow, Google's machine learning platform to listen for chainsaws, logging trucks, and other sounds of illegal activity. Google
