Social and tech companies help out with Hurricane Florence relief. Google is matching up to $1 million in donations to the American Red Cross through its partnership with Network for Good, and Google is promoting disaster response giving on their Gmail site. Amazon is taking donations via its Alexa home assistant by saying "Alexa, donate to Hurricane Florence disaster relief," and they've sent trucks with food and donated items to affected areas. Apple donated $1 million to the American Red Cross, and Airbnb offered free rooms to people fleeing the hurricane through its Disaster Response Program that allows hosts to wave fees for guests. Facebook is matching up to $1 million in donations to the American Red Cross and they've activated their Safety Check tool. There were 2,200 posts from people requesting help via its Community Help feature. Tech Crunch & AdWeek
